Felling done properly

Forestry-grade felling, garden-sized care.

Straight felling

Where there's room, a clean directional fell is the quickest and most economical way to take a tree down. As a working forestry company, felling is our trade — hinge, escape routes, done right.

Sectional take-downs

No room to fell? The tree comes down in rigged sections instead — standard practice in Surrey and London gardens, with ropes, friction devices and lowering points protecting everything below.

Groups, rows & overgrown corners

Conifer rows, self-seeded sycamores, neglected boundary lines — priced as one job, cleared in one visit, with all the waste chipped as we go.

Licences & permissions

Garden trees rarely need a felling licence, but protected trees and conservation areas need council consent — we check the tree's status and make sure consents are in place before any saw starts.

Questions

Tree felling questions, answered straight.

What's the difference between felling and removal?
Felling drops the tree in one piece where space allows; removal usually means dismantling it in sections. We quote whichever is safest and cheapest for your space — the result is the same: tree gone, site tidy.
Do I need a felling licence?
Almost never for garden trees — licences apply to larger volumes of timber outside gardens. If your trees are protected (TPO/conservation area) we handle the council consent for you.
Can you fell a tree in a small garden?
If there isn't room for a safe directional fell, we take it down in sections instead — same team, same visit. Most of our garden felling is done exactly this way.
What happens to the timber?
Chipped on site or removed — or cut into logs and left for your wood burner if you'd like. Tell us your preference when you send the quote form.
