Crane-assisted dismantling. Mature trees, dangerous leans, and the work other surgeons decline. NPTC qualified for trees over 760mm. Free site survey, written quote within 48 hours.
Honest answer: we don't quote remotely. Every London tree is different — diameter, access, drop zone, waste. Free site survey, fixed written quote within 48 hours, no obligation. You'll know the cost before any commitment.
Large tree felling, dangerous tree work, mature tree dismantles, crane-assisted removals, leylandii, oak, ash, poplar. Each one is its own job with its own kit, method, and pricing — we don't lump them together.
Mature oak, beech, plane, lime. Trees with stems over 600mm, often with limited drop zone or working area.
Straight fell where space allows; sectional dismantle where it doesn't. Directional felling, controlled hinge, ground-team supervision.
Storm-damaged, leaning, decayed, root-failed. Same-week mobilisation for urgent risk. Full method statement before work starts.
Standing deadwood is unpredictable. We dismantle from the top down with rigging, not felling, to control the fall path entirely.
When the drop zone is a conservatory, a wall, a road, or all three. Lifts arranged with crane partner; we plan the rigging.
Walled gardens, party walls, glass roofs. London access is the job — we plan around it rather than refusing it.
Boundary leylandii rows, single large specimens. We chip on-site so you don't pay disposal fees on twenty tonnes of green waste.
Species-specific approach. Ash dieback structural assessment, oak weight calculations, poplar fibrous timber handling.
Lowering ropes, blocks, speedlines. The technique used on 90% of our London removals when straight felling isn't possible.
Most large London trees are within metres of something we can't damage. Party walls, glass roofs, neighbours' sheds, parked cars, listed gateposts. Removing them safely means planning the entire dismantle before the first cut.
Every job starts with a free site walkover. You'll see exactly how we'd take the tree apart, where every piece goes, and how the site is left at the end. The written method statement is included with the quote.
Send a photo for a steer →City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award 0039-34 is the formal qualification for dismantling trees with stems over 760mm diameter. It's what separates general tree surgery from large-tree specialism, and most London tree surgeons don't carry it.
Smaller trees are still served — but if you've been told your tree is "too big" or quoted with caveats by a general surgeon, it's the kind of job this company exists for.
Most tree firms turn up in a transit, a chipper, and a tipper — three vehicles, three setups, three days on a job that could take one. We run a Unimog U2150L38 with a front-mounted Schliesing 12" chipper. Two trucks, one crew, one invoice.
Front-mount means tight London access. Six-tonne capacity means fewer trips. Schliesing means we chip everything on site rather than carting whole limbs across the city.
Walkover within 48 working hours. Edward attends in person on most jobs.
Fixed price, within 48 hours of the visit. Itemised by stage of work.
RAMS issued before mobilisation. Insurance documentation included.
Tree down. Timber chipped on-site. Ground left clean, single invoice.
"Three surgeons said the oak was 'too close' to the house. Ferguson did it in a day. Clean, well-planned, fully insured. We use them now on everything."
"A storm-damaged poplar leaning over the studio. Edward came out the same week with a method statement, sectional dismantle, no drama. Insurance paperwork was the easy part."
"Two large leylandii hedges removed in one day. Cleanest site I've seen at the end of a tree job."
Anything over roughly 600mm trunk diameter or 15m in height. We hold the City & Guilds Level 3 (0039-34) qualification for trees over 760mm diameter, which most general tree surgeons do not.
Yes. Most of our work is in confined London spaces. We use sectional dismantling, climbers, MEWPs or crane-assist depending on access. Each removal is planned with a written method statement and risk assessment before work starts.
Yes. £10m public liability and £10m employer's liability. Documentation is provided with every quote.
